Nobody wants to believe that they’re entire company got PWNED because of some simple mistake like an open S3 bucket or a simple phish compromised an account. It’s not a new story. We’ve heard it for years. And we keep hearing it.
Technology changes rapidly, but the problems we have with security, which are so dependent on humans are still relevant. I wrote an article for CIO.com entitled “20 of the Greatest Myths of Cloud Security” that’s still relevant. It’s seven years old, but the problems and the myths still remain. We’re still fighting many of the same problems. Where have we made advances and what advances do we still need to make?
In this video, Mike Milner (@secretmike), vp, cloud technology, Trend Micro and I chat about the issues we have with cloud security and that we still need innovation.
This video is all a tease for this Friday’s, October 7th, 2022, Super Cyber Friday. Our topic of discussion will be “Hacking Cloud Security Innovation: An hour of critical thinking of how securing the cloud must evolve.”
Please join us! Register for 10-7-22 event
Joining Mike and I for this discussion will also be Mark Houpt, CISO, DataBank.
It all starts at 1 PM Eastern/10 AM Pacific. At the end of the hour [2 PM Eastern/11 AM Pacific] we’ll switch gears to our meetup where everyone will get a chance to chat face to face.
